commodity damage. A balance
of subjective and
objective reporting is
provided pertaining to
internal damages that cannot
be seen.
PACKAGING: Thorough
description of the
original packaging used to protect the
commodity during
transport. Documentation is provided on the type
of material and fasteners used for both the
exterior and the interior packaging
along with documentation
of precautionary markings
and directionals on
the packaging for the freight handlers to
follow.
OBSERVATION/DAMAGE AS
COMPARED TO PACKAGING:
Documentation is provided
on the relationship
between the damage
to the packaging
and similar damage
to the commodity. This
observation takes into
account the type
of packaging used in
accordance to industry
standards for the
size and the weight of the commodity.
Saint Paulas Inspections is able
to provide
suggestions on packing concepts to avoid future commodity
damage.

inspectors’ professional
assessment of the
quality of the
packaging material.
Documentation of consignee concerns about
unknown and undetermined
internal damages that
may exist. The
consignees’ statements
and preferred wishes
are documented. Example:
return for new, salvage,
retain for allowances,
will advise etc.
